Fieldrunners

7.7 Overall Score
GAMEPLAY: 9
GRAPHICS: 9/10
SOUND & MUSIC: 5/10
Beautiful graphics for a tower defense game, Great replay value
The sounds and music can be quite repetitive, there is no option to exit the game, and the back button doesn't exit from it.

Fieldrunners is a port of the popular iOS game, but this isn't just any port. Unlike most games that are ported over, this is one that is more visually appealing than it's iOS counterpart. With crisp graphics, and hours of gameplay this one definitely won't let you down.

Gameplay

When you first start off you are given a little instruction screen, which explains all of the controls. They aren't the most detailed instructions, but if you have ever played a similar tower defense game, you will feel right at home. The weapons are in the bottom right hand corner, at the start you are given 4 different options to choose from, with each weapon being able to be upgraded 2-3 times. Later on in the game, there are many other weapons, so you can earn more along the way.

Just like any other tower defense game, your goal is to strategically place the weapons to stop the enemies from crossing to the other side. You only have 20 hearts, so if more than 20 enemies cross your line of defense you lose the game. This is always the fun part, i enjoy creating little mazes for the enemies to cross through. It's very important to make it as hard as possible for the enemy to get to the other side, strategy is the key to success. If you leave one little hole open, or don't build enough weapons don't expect to last long. There are 100 waves of enemies, so this will give you plenty of time to build as much as possible.

With over 400 levels, and 4 different battlefields there are countless hours of gameplay. If you are looking for one of the best tower defense games on the market, Fieldrunners won't let you down.

Graphics

For a tower defense game the graphics are pretty impressive, all of the textures are really nice and crisp, and the animations are pretty neat. When it comes down to it, similar games like Robo Defense can't even compare in the graphics category.

Sound & Music

When it comes down to it, the sounds are much better left off. Sure the music is original, but the downside is it's extremely repetitive. Playing through 100 different waves of enemies while listening to the same music, can be rather annoying in my opinion, although that all comes down to personal preference.
